Using the Iraq war as our template of how not to act, the most constructive action short of nationalizing the Federal Reserve would be reforming education. The War and suspension of civil liberties was possible because weapons makers in league with bankers are given information monopolies by the state. The financial collapse was possible because people have no source of financial information independent of international banks. Banks should not be permitted to control mass media. Media should be nationalized, shares distributed to citizens, and run in the public interest, answerable to elected boards of citizens with a track record of telling the truth. (A company like Fox is the same as Coutrywide: sociopath capitalism as a cancer on the body social, incentivised by the state.) Then the same can be done with universities, which are little more than loan agents at present, or private banks themselves at the elite level. At this point the nation state is not demonstrably run in the public interest and will not survive band aids, nor should it.
